PRECISION V-BELT LENGTH TOLERANCES
Optibelt has eliminated the need for Matched-Set v-belts. If you are running any drive with multiple single v-belts, they will run more efficiently with a standard Optibelt S=C Plus v-belt. That is right...your drives will use less energy, have more power and can save you thousands of dollars a year, simply by running an Optibelt S=C Plus v-belt.
S=C Plus is the abbreviation for "Set-Constant". Set-Constant is Optibelt's standard length v-belt length tolerances. Set-Constant length tolerances are much closer than any Matched-set, regardless of the date manufactured. This eliminates the need for special ordering and stocking for your facilities operations.
Optibelt's Set-Constant tolerances are available on standard VB (Classical Profile) and SK (Standard and Metric Profile), HVAC Power and Red Power high-performance v-belts.
Standard vs Matched-Set vs OPTIBELT Set-Constant v-belt standards
Standard v-belt tolerances for a B100 v-belt will vary + or - 13/16" or more than 1-1/2". Matched-Sets are closer, but need to be ordered special and be specially stocked.
OPTIBELT Set-Constant (S=C PLUS) tolerances vary + or - 1/8" or only 1/4" regardless of the date manufactured. There is no special ordering and no special stocking needed.
Remember, a B100 v-belt is only 100 inches in length! Heavy industrial belts run much longer lengths, which increases the variances. That is why Matched-Set standards were created. Optibelt's exclusive Set-Constant standards now makes Matched-Set's obsolete!
Most manufacturers utilize a step-cure process which vulcanizes belts in sections. This process is easier but can produce overlapping cured sections that can cause performance issues or failures.
OPTIBELT's rotary vulcanization continually rotates the belt as it is being cured. This has the following benefits:
> Smooth profile sidewalls for superior sheave contact
> Consistent cured rubber improves performance and durability
> No molds needed for v-belt production 47" and above
