Transverse Fiber Rubber V-Belts
OPTIBELT high performance v-belts feature a transverse fiber rubber core. It is a semi-rigid rubber that provides for additional strength to the core rubber material. This allows for performance gains in power, efficiency and durability.
WHAT IS TRANSVERSE FIBER RUBBER?
This rubber compound is blended with thousands of fiber strands. During the v-belt manufacturing process, the specialized rubber compound goes through a separate process to align the strands perpendicular (transverse) to the v-belt's running direction.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The fiber strands in the rubber are aligned and overlap one another. This overlap allows the strands to support each other so they act as a unified structure limiting side-to-side movement and flex, while remaining flexible in the opposite direction.
